SERGEY SERGEEV born iin Leningrad, Soviet Russia. He graduated from the Serov High School of Fine Arts in 1973 and worked at the Mariinsky Theater, where he designed the set for the ballet “The Creation of the World” with Mikhail Baryshnikov as star dancer. He developed his personal style through exploring painting, graphics, prints and etchings. In 1975, he became an active member of the Russian Nonconformist movement. SERGEY SERGEEV is also one of the founders and art director of the cult contemporary art gallery D137 in Saint Petersburg. He took part in some seventy exhibitions, as well as in numerous international art fairs and art projects. His works can be found in famous museums and collections (Hermitage Museum, State Russian Museum, Sergei Kurekhin Foundation, ERARTA Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of Nonconformist Arts in St. Petersburg; Zimmerli Museum. New Brunswick, New Jersey. USA; Kolodzei Art Foundation. USA; Sandretti Foundation. Italy; Helen Mirren and Taylor Hackford collections.USA ) Since 2013 the artist lives and works in France.
