Art Description

Painting: Oil on Canvas.

An image of the view from outside my father's house during a spring storm. The clouds made me think of the cycles the desert goes through seasonally. There is a strong theme around survival and what that means and it's consequences. Storms in the desert can be devastating, but are necessary, vultures eat other creatures that have died, the grass has to die to keep arid soil fertile ... The list goes on. This painting is a reminder of the painful process of healing and restoration. It was painted as a reminder to myself that anything worth having is often difficult to achieve and will probably come with a cost. It's about nature. It's about life. It's about me. It sounds pretentious, but really it's more an over simplification.
