Painting: Oil on Wood.
This is pure oil paint built up over many layers. The bright contrasting colors on top of each other become extra powerful.
I painted this on a gessoed panel so that I could scratch the surface to create a dynamic texture. The panel is masonite and extremely stable according to art conservators.
This painting is undoubtedly joyous. The leaping quality of the light, and how it bounces out of the painting, is where the title came from, Light Bounds.
