Light Emerges from Darkness Painting

This work was made for an exhibition with a theme ,,Going into the poem,,. I remembered a beautiful poem from Leelo Tungal, an Estonian poetress. The poem has the same title as my painting. The poems meaning very badly translated would be: ,,Greate warmth can begin from a spark. From the heart of darkness a beautiful light emerges...Those who have felt joy know what is sadness. They have been used to sing with a bitter taste accompanied...,,. It is actually a very optimistic poem. After remembering the poem the idea for the work sparked in my head immediately. It came as a detailed picture to my mind. And here it is. It is a comforting picture. Meant to show one hope, bring joy and ease worries. When I finished it I felt that my problems did not seem so overwhelming anymore. I could smile again and that is sometimes enough to move on. Many of my paintings are meant to bring joy and hope. It is because I think there is so much pain and problmes in the world that art should be comforting and make us happier. This is what I am trying to accomplish. I used gallery profile canvas, acrylic colors,texture paste, details from fine glass decorations. The work is covered with a thick layer of varnish. Sides are painted and so the painting does not need a frame. Also can be hanged through the canvas frame.
