The legend of the young woman built in the foundations of a bridge or building, to appease God, who breaks down construction, is common to all lands, in which ever lived Bulgarians. Translated and sings a thousand times, often by uneducated folk singers, this legendary ballad, inevitably is repeated in many variants.
