ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The gray and white painted background came first- although the heavy bodied paint gave it texture, it needed more. I had been fly fishing recently, and the image of the stacked stones on the bank came to mind. I sketched some on the painting, then used color for each one. Some of the stones have faces on them, because that is what I saw at the time. I thought the title might be something with the word cairns, (meaning stacked rocks), but Rolling Stones seemed to fit better. Guess I’m a hippie at heart!
