Selin Çeliktaş was born in İzmir in 1988 and completed her education at Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting in 2016. She works conceptually on problems of existence, loneliness, lack of communication and alienation. She has participated in various mixed exhibitions and has continued works by blending different disciplines and techniques. She completed her master's degree at Dokuz Eylül University, Graduate School of Fine Arts, Department of Art and Design in 2023. "In the Sisterhood Series, the artist takes a stance against the image of woman shaped by masculine point of view that we see all the time in the media. The woman presented with an almost plasticized artificiality becomes commodified and loses its reality. The artist, who wants to emphasize the fragility and mortality of the body, wants to strengthen this feeling by using a sensitive and fragile material such as pencil. The body that we see in black and white in contrast to the vivid colors is fragile and doomed to disappear."
