"I would like to create artworks in which the harmony of colours and forms resonates with the viewer and conveys a sense that completeness and unity in every person him- or herself can be achieved even in our disconnected modern world. In my work, despite the fragmented shapes, the contrasts and tensions, the final experience is one of beauty and harmony. I think this is symbolic of our lives. All of our perception is partial and fragmented but we can still create a meaningful whole. I hope that the new visual experience of my artworks resonates with the viewers and helps providing the possibility of feeling a little more at home in this world." Beate Blume typically uses brilliant, vigorous colours and strong contrasts in her artworks. Clear - often geometric - shapes and repetitive elements give a unique rhythm to her paintings, unifying and separating fore- and background at the same time. The artist uses simplified and well-defined forms. The contours of the subject remain mostly naturalistic. To increase the colours' impact Blume uses extensive forms. The effect of the - often pure - colours is enhanced by the strong contrasts. The high purity of the colours makes the paintings appear to be flooded with light. The vivid colours emanate a joy of life and power. Strong contrasts create tension and energy. Still, the finished artwork has a sense of unity and harmony reflecting the beauty of the subjects painted. Beate Blume was born on September 27th, 1966. She has won many international art awards, for example: 1st place tie American Art Award, and a 4th place American Art Award 2021, MUSA International's Woman Art Award 2023, 4th and 6th place World Art Award 2023, Art Show international 'Color 2022' Talent Prize Award, Featured Artist at Camelback Gallery 2022 and 2023.
