Liverpool Loopline (4) Painting

Born in Liverpool in the late 60's, I've lived in my city all my life but have been very lucky to travel the world extensively. Throughout that travel I've developed a love of landscapes. I paint mainly in acrylics/oils. I get inspiration from beautiful places I've been, including my home city of Liverpool. I studied foundation art at Liverpool Polytechnic and although it was one of the best years of my life, I decided art school wasn't for me. I had a good career in music but now I have gone back to my first love of painting. I tend to paint in a semi realistic style with a view to create atmosphere. I never intend to make a painting as dark as it appears but each time I paint, the need to turn my universe into somewhere we may fear to tread becomes instinctual.
