I pick up brushes and see where they take me... My art is an adventure, with each painting opening a door to a different little world, like a hidden universe, which I find fascinating to watch as it unravels among the layers of paint. Inspiration comes from everywhere and everything I see around, but not in a conscious way. I don't have a preset, clear vision of what effect I want to achieve, but my paintings often seem to contain echoes of images that inspired my imagination, such as landscapes, nature photographs that I take, or it could be just colour and shape combinations. I let the painting to develop the way it 'wants to' develop and watch the emerging images, which later get more refined and edited during the painting process. Apart from titles, I don't provide much description or suggestions of interpretation, as words often seem so inadequate when trying to describe an image and, ultimately, everybody looks at things through their own 'brain filter'. I like to think of my paintings as little stories in a picture, but the story needs to be made by the viewer and it doesn't need to contain words... As Edward Hopper said, 'If you could say it in words there would be no reason to paint.'
