London

Like many, I find London both a fascinating and fatiguing place. Going there is often exciting, but there really are no words (for me personally) to describe the relief when leaving and to be out of its gravitational pull.

That said, what I have come to appreciate about London is that it has an unusual and harsh fairness to it ('fairness' in the sense that it is indifferent to all human endeavours), seemingly regarding everyone with equal contempt. "If you slip, whoever you are, I will devour you!". A sentiment perfectly summed up in verse here, by Frida Hyvönen:

London,

The way you hate me is better than love

And I'm head over heels.

London,

The way you want to get rid of me

Makes me weak in the knees
