Look beyond the hills Painting

Melanie Gooi is a Malaysian born, Singapore-based artist who began her creative journey later in life as a form of self-discovery and healing. She is primarily a self-taught artist and is known for her minimalist abstract approach to painting. Her current work is created with acrylic paint, acrylic inks and medium on raw canvas. Using a limited palette of colour, she sensitively manipulates layers of translucent acrylic inks to portray simplicity in expression that lends a gorgeous understated elegance to her paintings. Her inspiration comes from her mindfulness practice, listening to her inner voice and feelings to express her vulnerabilities onto canvas. She has had several exhibitions to date and was recently featured in the Unicorn Factory digital magazine.
