I have been obsessed with metals and their process of deterioration and finally of destruction for some years, they are impressions that have remained in me since I was very young because I was raised in a small town in the surroundings of an old industry. A few years ago I set myself the task of trying to represent it through the canvas. Since then it has become a constant search and study, a passion and way of identity. I only use canvas and paintings, nothing more, and all the work is done by hand, without using mechanical elements. It is a very slow process, it take a lot of layers of canvas and painting. The final piece became very textured. Sides are painting with the same treatment in a way you could actually swear you're standing in front of a heavy and sturdy piece of metal

The Edras´s work comes from the observation to the nature and how this influences the objects, in this case the metals. Of how it eats away, it transforms or it destroys each piece for majestic that it is that in turn has been forgotten by the man who underrates things that were part of their life in a time and that for different reasons it stop to be important for him. The paintings, of absolute simplicity in composition and color, place the spectator in front of a screen where the images seem frozen, and the silhouettes sharply clipped against the bottom, they stand out as old dies; scars of a skin oxidized by the step of the time. Also supported in the use of simple texts, Edras proposes a sensitive exercise and at the same time intellectual A surface that reproduces forgotten fragments of old iron plates, obsolete machineries of some demolished factory, pieces of a broken bridge... Words, forms and planes are taken by the artist to their elementary units in a deliberate way of producing the biggest possible freedom of readings. Abstraction and figuration go of the hand in this series that speaks continually of the corrosion and the loss of an identity, but that, in an oblique way he also invites to the metamorphosis and the superación of the memory.
