ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Love me is an original abstract painting by Stephanie Laine. Please note the 'in situ' images are not necessarily to scale. Please measure your space using the painting measurements provided. 'This painting is quite a unique one for me and a style I'm looking forward to continuing. My aim was to convey deep emotion through the use of expressive brushstrokes, colour, composition and contrast. The directional lines suggest movement and the act of clinging or grasping (which conveys passion). I love the layering of colours highlighted by the red oil pastel line work, and the dream like quality of the image. Stephanie grew up in the Country areas of the New South Wales Central Coast and moved to the Gold Coast in 1997 to be closer to her family. Daughter of political cartoonist Larry Pickering and one of eleven children, she enjoyed a colourful and interesting childhood. With a background in graphic design she was a partner in 'Studio Otto Illustration and Design' for 12 years before deciding to devote her time fully to painting in 2007. Solo Exhibition venues include Gold Coast 'Home of the Arts', Bundall, Doggett Street Studio, Newstead Brisbane and The Art Lovers Australia Gallery in Melbourne.
