About The Artwork
This is a celebration of life's joys! The alternate title is Carnaval de Rio. It is inspired by a much earlier, large rectangular oil painting on paper. I really wanted to recapture the earlier painting but could not. In the inspiration painting, I had an intense use of oil paint and more pastel colors. Here, somewhat minimalist, the raw canvas is almost a part of the subject.
