About The Artwork

I mostly paint acrylic on canvas using the most knife instead of a brush, and focus mostly on people, sky, sea, buildings and nature in general. With the intention of expressing. Themes for art are often related to love, passion, emptiness and sadness.

Shaban Bamerni was born in 1967, originally from Kurdistan. He began to paint people and nature when he went to primary school. An important inspiration was from a television program called "the little studio". At the age of 16, he decided that art was what he wanted to live, despite interest in music, for example. The painting had a slowness and heavy weight he wanted to work with. Between 1992 and 1997 he studied at an art school in Kurdistan, where he later became a teacher. In 1999, he decided to come to Norway because of the situation in Iraq. He often uses a knife rather than a brush when painting, but often a combination. I paint both people and nature and buildings and all that is moving, a passion that clearly appears in my expression
