ABOUT THE ARTWORK
While there are many aspects of being around horses that give me great pleasure, there are two especially meaningful: the relationship I have with my horses and the sense of peace I feel when I’m at the barn. I think it’s fascinating how many thoughts I can have at one time, yet at the barn I think of nothing. When I really think about how I feel around my horses, I feel like I just “am.” I don’t have to think, I just have to be present, which is why I believe I am so obsessed with horses. Horses keep me centered and give me a break from all the chaos I love getting lost in this feeling that reestablishes balance in my life. Working with my horses is where I get my inspiration for my artwork and this painting was done right after getting to work with my buckskin mare, Lulu.
