About The Artwork
Layered and interlaced thick strips of acrylic paint create an image of a baby koala. This work is part of a series of animal portraits. While there is a stylised pixelated look the work is 100% hand made from hand cast and cut pieces of paint. I call this new style of work my paint tapestries. The interlaced woven strips of paint create a textural web that physically expresses my primary concern, the importance to work and live sustainably recognising our interconnected status with all other life, matter and energy on this planet
