About The Artwork

This work was inspired by observing the insatiable attempts of man to conquer and acquire territories. In the beginning was a world, and the world was arid, harsh and uninhabitable, yet by year 2100, man was moving upon the surface of this world in his heavily cladded spaceship, savouring it for eventual occupation. He soon found out that this red world posed a far more daunting challenge than originally postulated and in despaired wishfulness looked longingly at mother earth, hoping for some kind of panacea. However, in his resilience, he resolved to adapt to these unearthly conditions in other to become a real Martian. And this is completely logical, given that it is widely accepted among scientists that life came on earth as a bacteria making landing through a comet flight from deep space and in time evolved into an integral part of the system as man and other diverse life forms. So, at this time, man decided to play the " bacteria" and become the primal life form on Mars. A new evolution has begun.- Segun Aiyesan

Born 18th March 1971 in Benin city, Nigeria. I m married with 2 great kids and another one is on the way, hopefuly the last. Art is my calling in life and its what i do best. Ever since i was aware of myself,i always loved anything artistic and and i indulged myself in them, even though i really wasn't hoping to become a professional artist. Anyway, after a long sojourn in the science world,i finally became a professional artist and i m enjoying every moment of it.i try to embbed deep messages in my works in terms of metaphors and innuendosI ve actually realized that my pool of inspiration cannot be defined with a boundary, because i am constantly changing my perspective and i try to find the most suitable way to express my artistic opinion. And since i m primarily an experimental artist, i really can't say my restless spirit will be comfortable with working in a certain technique for very long. However, the most important thing about my work is that i believe God has a divine presence in it.
