Marie Laveau was a Creole Voodoo queen in New Orleans in the nineteenth century. This mixed raced woman gained considerable power and prestige. I imagine her travelling in the spiritual world, as we do each day, when we travel in the unknown. Spirit birds here are go-betweens, helping us, messengers from the unknown.
