As a child, I lived in Argentina, on the border with Bolivia, a small town called Oran near the city of Salta. I would occasionally meet Indians selling their wares in the market, there were Native Americans there. I have a memory of eating their dish, whose name I do not remember, it was a corn stew served with her banana husband and folded in it. To this day I remember the taste of this dish. When Merav came back with these photos from Bolivia, I connected to the photo of the woman who reminded me of the women of the market. Plays I saw as a child. And these are the paintings that were painted following her photographs. And thanks to Merav for the photography, inspiration and reminder of the memory.
