ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is the old steel girder bridge over the Mattagami River on Highway 11 in Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario. These bridges are slowly being replaced by concrete bridges, which tend to be far less interesting. The intersecting girders form geometric patterns where I have made the sky a slightly different colour in each shape, lending a kind of stained glass feel.
