The desire to rediscover the body and the portrait asserted itself. Portraits invented to celebrate the imaginary. Here, each person is a star in their intimate mirror. Models, actresses, divas, feminine portraits where the coveted image is about seduction and desire. But beyond the artifices of fashion, it is primarily about painting here, a kind of colorful dripping that disrupts these timeless poses. Small vibrant and free touches dance and flutter around the characters. Splashes and stripes sometimes traverse the space, reaffirming the freedom of the gesture and disrupting the classical conventions of realistic portraiture.

Thomas Pierre was born in Versailles, France. He lives and works in France now... Prior to returning to France, he spent 20years on the move, living and working in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Phnom Penh, Cambodia and Berlin, Germany. Thomas-Pierre´s paintings are always an encounter and an invitation to escape. The artist moves through life and stops on details that attract his attention. He likes the era in which he lives; he was in Asia to confront himself with another culture, seeking to challenge his belief system. In every exhibition, the spectator will discover paintings that are like archives of the artist´s research and visions in which graphics and inscriptions encounter color. The paintings were all worked on at the same time, in the same studio; Thomas-Pierre goes back and forth between them. They take shape individually and as an ensemble. A dialogue between the paintings emerges in this creative process. Thomas-Pierre explores the relationships between representation and abstraction. Mixing abstract and representational work is a duality that he continues to explore…
