Mesa Violeta, in oil and cold wax, was inspired by Quana Parker, a war leader of the Quahadi band of the Comanche Nation. The freedom with which he and his band lived and the unbound ranges that they traversed were envisioned full of texture and colors, with the land being as beautiful as it was unforgiving.
