For identification of this artwork a transponder is embedded in the colour. To position 453 was before Corona. When the first virus reports came in from China I felt the urge for less opulence. My style changed overnight. The series "EUPHONIA", "SENSITIVE" and "IMPLOSION" were created simultaneously. A little later "RED" was added. The proclamation of the lockdown increased my feelings again, called for reflection of my own self. Out of this came sense-paintings. From now my works are called " MESSAGES". By means of Morse code I send the viewer words, messages. These often distraction-free, minimalist paintings call out to you: "Take a break! Shut down, sit down and ask yourself: how do I go through life? What am I here for? How do I fulfill my mission on earth? What is that mission anyway? What are my tasks? Which dear people carry me and to which dear people do I dedicate my time and affection? What demands do I make on my existence? How much am I prepared to give back for their fulfilment? How much do I need? Which ballast stands in my way? What can I do to meet the rising sun tomorrow? Some of my earlier, meaningless paintings will make way for a MESSAGE - I will paint over them.

Switzerland
A former engineer living in the fast lane, Bastian Oldhouse is a Swiss painter and sculptor. With his surreal works of art, he creates metaphors. And when painting is no longer enough, he shakes things up with three-dimensional pieces.Shoevinist The artist is not obliged to provide a standard, immediately recognizable line. The materials to be used to achieve a particular goal must also be determined before a work is started. Whether pastel chalk, carbon pencil, acrylic or oil on paper or canvas – whatever the desired effect, the appropriate material must be used. The distinctive features that make his works unmistakable are a red stiletto shoe and – invisibly embedded in the colour – a transponder (microchip) that serves as identification.
