About The Artwork
This is 4th canvas I painted for the "Capsule Hotel Dreams series", which was a series I created while I was living in Shanghai aiming to go to have my debut exhibition in Tokyo, and used myself as the main model. It depicts a figure of me taking a shower as a sumo wrestler, among other wrestlers in a traditional Bath House of Tokyo, where you can even see the typical Mount Fuji mural. The nuance of the eyes could be interpreted as he is watching himself and the viewer of the canvas at the same time. It has been in 3 exhibitions in Tokyo and one in Mexico City.
