This piece is currently loose and can be stretched to fit your needs including cropping it into two vertical pieces. I have it listed as being able to ship in a tube. If you want it stretched before shipping, there will be additional shipping charges. I consider myself an alchemist on canvas. With an experimental approach and a variety of organic and inorganic elements: oils and water media, salts and minerals, earth pigments, solvents, polymers and metals, I pour, layer and etch away to give the work detail and depth and explore the patterning created as materials pool in liquid, ripple in solvents, and dry and crystallize. I strive to create work that is ephemeral and evocative, to embrace the fragility of the earth and bring its beauty into our everyday lives. The initial impetus is capturing the essence of nature, but ultimately, it’s about taking and relinquishing control— knowing how to push the materials and when to acquiesce and let them find their own way. Guiding is important, but sometimes the most wonderful things happen when we let go.
