The Year was 1958 when I became my resident visa for the USA. From Toronto, Canada I drove in my 1952 Buick Eight to Miami, Florida. There, I worked as the Art Director for the local Advertising Agency Charles Friedlaender. Our clients where mostly hotels in Miami Beach as the Fountainblue, the Eden Roc, the Diplomat, the Cadillac and others. The Rouney Plaza was known for hosting famous entertainers like Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Perry Como and comedians like Jimmy Durante. The many years I was living and working there left a big mark on me. The glizzy life, the colors and the warm climate gave me many happy hours. Subsequently I named the painting “MIAMI HAPPY HOUR”
