My area of interest for many years has been urban planning – the structure of the city. Geometric forms created through lines and shapes on my canvases depict the three-dimensional world. Initially called a city, but the term "labyrinth" has become increasingly fitting. There are no windows, doors, people, or trees; everything is raw and stripped of the elements that make up existing cities. The apparent silence and simplicity of the form in the labyrinth, however, evoke unease in everyone. Will I find my way out? Does it make sense? What am I searching for? Is danger awaiting me? What lies around the corner? Will it ever end? All these questions directly relate to the existence of humans in space. The space I construct based on maps of known cities is meant to induce disorientation and a desire to find oneself within it. Vivid colors are intended to amplify the emotions we experience when trying to answer these questions. The colorful compositions seemingly aim to make our visual journey through the labyrinth in the paintings more pleasant. For countless months, illness robbed me of the desire and ability to paint. I lost myself and couldn't find my way in the new situation. Searching for an exit, I slowly picked myself up from the floor to once again convey my quest for meaning in the post-illness space on canvas. The instability and inaccuracy of lines and spots reflect the desire to capture as much hesitation and doubt as possible, which currently accompany me. My art and paintings are so different from each other because my development is happening very rapidly now. I absorb quickly and paint to capture as much as possible. I have to bring out everything that has happened to me during this long and painful period. I can do this precisely through painting.

I am a person who is combining skills of two professions, of an architect and a painter. I finished both faculties: Architecture and Urban Planning at Gdańsk University of Technology and Painting at Gdańsk Academy of Fine Arts. It was in the collision of these two passions, that I’ve found the inspiration needed to create my own cities and urban/architectural compositions. I am painting as well as actively creating new designs. I can’t imagine giving up on neither one of these crafts. I am developing my passion for urban landscape through travelling and photography. I enjoy acquiring new skills, of which my favorite is learning foreign languages.
