POPART | STREETART | URBAN | GRAFFITI | EXPRESSIONISM | SPIRITUAL ABSTRACTS | MODERN ART | POST-MODERN ART | 2020 Thank You for Visiting! I hope you will see a starting point and maybe get a bit lost: I hope that you will dream. » Chris Crewe compares life to a trapeze act. Always knowing that the next rung will be there, he hasn't fallen yet. The Canadian artist has been studying the use of sledgehammer as a paintbrush, replicating marks, and incorporating them into his abstract works. Crewe also makes paint markers out of plastic bottles by melting the plastic to turn the lid into a spout, often using them to draw in free-flowing gestures. His unique works are meant to 'brighten your day'. Chris Crewe paints Pop Art commentary as a reflection of contemporary life, living a fast-paced and colorful post-modern lifestyle he also has a clothing line which he maintains while experimenting with new materials and concepts daily. Chris can often be found documenting graffiti with his camera, finding inspiration in the city around him, looking down alleyways, climbing street poles, exploring everywhere, and uncovering new work. Graffiti is much like a logo design where there is always a fresh attitude and boldness which is fertile ground for new ideas. Chris has dedicated a Pinterest board to show off his #streetart finds with over 700 photos to date documenting graffiti artists from all over Toronto. __________________________________________ EVERY PIECE IS CREATED IN MY STUDIO, MADE FOR URBAN LIFE, TO PERSONIFY THE BUSTLING, SEXUALLY CHARGED MARCH FORWARD YOU FEEL WHEN LIVING IN A CITY, TO KNOW YOU'VE MADE IT, OR TO GIVE HOPE THAT SOON YOU WILL.
