About The Artwork

Series "Femininity" includes four works on canvas stained with black acrylic. The accompanying female silhouettes have the shape and decorations inspired by the ancient clay statuettes of the Cucuteni culture. Those women are around the woman who is preparing to give birth. Here are four midwives who are advised.

Carmen Soare Romania 51 years Married Two daughters Borned and live in Braila (city in Romania) My artworks are in privat collections from Romania, UK, Belgium and Luxembourg. At a certain point, when children leave home and you no longer have knitted hats, bluffs and scarves, when you have more free time than when they were with you and always cared for and care for them, you can change your habits: go out with your friends or read more or complain about your mercy or ... you start painting ... That's how I started in 2014. When I had a few dozen works, I took the courage and went with them to an art critic at the museum in my town to tell me what they think of them. He told me that he liked my spontaneity and encouraged me to make an exhibition with some of them, which I did. That's how my first show "Serendipity" took place, and I received compliments from professional plastic artists who urged me to continue. This has made me work further discovering and using new working techniques. Thus, one year after the first exhibition, I realized my second exhibition "Melanj". My studies and my life experience have a great influence on my work. I paint according to my feelings of the moment or of the experiences I have had lately, subliming them. It's "state painting", it's a painting of my spirit. That's why I sometimes do work with well-defined shapes (usually with gold), and sometimes work with various thick textures of colors that mix on the substrate or in overlapping layers from which only parts are visible. Thus, on the one hand, we have decorative works, made on black background with acrylic colors, mainly metallic (gold, bronze, silver), inspired by Klimt, Hundertwasser, etc. Here I refer to works such as "mixed media", "Innocence in Red," the series of "Femininity" inspired by ancient ceramic statues (from Romania and South America), representing the woman's mother silhouette which are represented by feminine stylized silhouettes with clear contours, colored in earth colors and decorated with specific motifs - spirals, angles, points, etc. - symbols of fecundity and life. These works represent what they represent, nothing unclear ... Why black background? Because for me it means the nothingness we come from and where we return, I feel attracted to this non-color ...
