The title of this small paintography is "Milano Dummy 2", a deliberately neutral title that indicates that the showcase dummy who served as a model was photographed in Milano (one of the capital cities for fashion) and that it is the second in an ephemeral series, because there is rarely much left of fashion once the season is over...

Here, the dummy is presented only as a torso and the treatment in blue, deliberately neutral, almost mineral, shifts the look of contemporary fashion towards a certain antique classicism. The only clue we have about the dummy's "plastic" nature is the orange squares, which is its natural color and reappears when scratching the surface.

This artwork is made in mixed technique on canvas. It combines photography, digital art and acrylic painting, with a dozen layers of glazes and embossed squares that bring vibration to the surface of the canvas that is shiny. It is an original, one-of-a-kind piece, it comes with a certificate of authenticity. The painting is framed with black wood (total dimensions: about 35 x 27 cm).

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
