“Mixed Bunches” series No.3 – original painting by Megan Barrass. My inspiration for the Mixed Bunches series, comes from many visits to my favourite café where bunches and bunches of flowers are always displayed on an old white wooden bench. Every time I see the display it makes my heart sing. Included in the composition is always a representation of Australian flora. Here we have Proteas and Grevilleas showing how unique our flowers are. My intention is to create original paintings to make your heart and walls sing. About the paintings quality: The canvas is professional artist grade with the following: Wright & Co Canvas 12oz poly cotton 3 coats of Titanium White Acrylic Primed Gesso Stretcher Bars 35mm deep 18x55mm corner and centre bracing Gallery stretched for painting on the canvas edge Double stapled on the back of the stretcher The paint I use is professional artist quality and the artwork is protected with Art Spectrum Gloss Varnish. On back of painting, the D-hooks and hanging cord are fixed, so artwork is ready to hang straight on your wall.

Megan Barrass is known for her strong, typically Australian coastal themed paintings, along with her bold floral artworks; with a generous use of luscious coloured, brush strokes of acrylic paint onto large scale canvases. The artwork is definitely a direct response from her environment. Scenes that we all experience, capture her attention, drawing the viewer in to focus on and explore the moment. Such as, going to the beach, with the colourful umbrellas and beach towels; bush walking and seeing the local fauna and wildlife; having a coffee in a waterside café; the visual delights that snorkelling offers or simply walking by Sydney Harbour. By using sketches and photography for her observational studies. Megan will collage the moments together to construct a narrative. Working in the creative industries has been Megan’s life. Her work addresses ways of celebrating life. The aim is to create images so others can visually share the passion and optimism.
