About The Artwork

When you look closely at small things and take them away from their natural surroundings, they get a different weight and feeling. Monnikskap is the Dutch word for Monkshood (Aconite). It is one of a series of paintings called "Bescheiden" (translated in English: modest).

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

At the moment what fascinates me most is the combination of geometric and organic shapes. Maybe this is because I live in a polder: a man made, fully designed piece of land. The shapes of the fields are rectangular, the buildings are modern, not ornamented. They form a sharp contrast between the Dutch sky, the trees, lakes and wildlife. I was born in the Netherlands and live in the new town of Almere. A town 7 meters below sea level. Though I followed one year of art school and a three year course in oil painting, I am largely self taught.
