ABOUT THE ARTWORK

In my art I am revolving around my questions in life. In my series of 18 paintings "Morija" I engaged in the topic of trust. Inspired by a story from the #bible where Abraham was ready to bring the biggest sacrifice trusting in God and His #wisdom. Hard to believe but I was orbiting around the essence: How does it work to #trust – I mean, REALLY trust? Trust in life, in everything that is. My resume in painting No. 17: "With unwavering trust, I delve into the very essence of existence, reaching depths that anchor my being. It is within this profound connection that I transform into a mountain, rising with unwavering strength and grace. Like a steadfast peak, I stand tall, exuding a sense of sublime presence and clarity. Trust becomes the bedrock from which I draw my unwavering power, embracing the world with an unshaken spirit that echoes through my artistic expression." Please not: I am shipping the painting in a tube for cheaper and easier handling, stretcher bars included. You easily can find a framer / art shop who will stretch it for you.

Petra Penz uses the whole span of tonal values and develops a colorful and achromatic language. Vast oceans and streams, whole worlds are formed – bonded in small, formal flats and free lakes of color. A seamless dialogue of counterparts opens up issues of the time and unfurls in pictural answers. From there, freedom results enabling the artist to seize new possibilities of painting without given concepts. Painting for her is freedom, inspiration of others and answering actual questions within the abstractness of color and composition. Especially because of her fierceness and often objective blur, Petra is a wanderer between the worlds. Carsten Lehmann, curator, konsum>163
