About The Artwork

4'x4' fresco, acrylic, oil on gallery wrapped canvas over panel. Wired and ready to hang - no need to frame. This Japonisme inspired painting is achieved by rendering in acrylic over fresco. Multiple rounds of oil glazes are used to give the work a phantasmagoric and illuminated quality. Very finished piece that reads with a clean modernity almost like a lacquered box. LaChance's works were recently selected by Associate Curator, Kelly Shindler of the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis for the 119th survey of midwestern painters for New American Paintings. LaChance exhibits in galleries across the United States and is collected world wide. In 2016 she will be in a group exhibition at the Elmhurst Museum of Art and will exhibit at the Evansville Museum of Art, History and Science in 2017.
