Morning Serenade Painting

My artistic journey began in the 1990’s with a general interest in Folk Art, which provided me with a solid grounding in decorative art techniques and, in particular, the use of acrylics. Since moving to tropical North Queensland, my focus has evolved toward a more contemporary style. I am inspired by the work of Susan Gee, Mark Waller, MuralJoe and Janice Ailwood and recently attended a workshop in abstract realism in acrylics with Sue Riley-Gee. I’m fortunate to live in a tropical environment where I find inspiration in all things coastal, tropical and nautical. I still work mainly with acrylics but as I don't want to limit myself to one style or medium, I have recently begun workshops in watercolour with a local fine artist, Janice Ailwood. As well as painting, I also enjoy teaching and hold regular classes in basic acrylic techniques.
