Mother of the Arab Spring / Tunesia/ 2011 Painting

Nansi T. Lent, American, born 1954 (ne: Bauman) New Yorker, born in Glen Cove, Long Island Trained in Photography, Filmmaking and Visual Arts throughout my college and graduate school years, I began painting in the 70's. I hold a B.A. in Studio Art from Boston College where my primary focus was in Photography and Film. I continued on professionally in those two disciplines and further pursued my interests in Drawing and Painting at The New York Studio School, The Art Students League and theatrical scene painting at The Studio & Forum of Stage Design. I then earned my MA from NYU in Visual Arts Administration, studying with various leading contemporary artists, critics and arts management professionals. My business career, producing mixed media projects for the Fortune 500, took me all over the world over the course of the next three decades. In the 90's I was an active member of The School of Bayonne, a small salon founded and run by the Russian artists Komar and Melamid. In 2008 I retired from my NYC business life and moved to the Hudson Valley where I've returned to my roots, making art. National Association of Women Artists www.thenawa.org
