ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Is image was inspired by a line form Surrealist poet, Paul Eluard, that read "Nurse to the Stars." I loved the image this phrase presented and immediately did research on stars, nurses and mothers. The final image consisted of a nurse holding a baby in her arms. I gave the nurse a face inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci and changed the baby in her arms to a cluster of stars. As the model looks at the stars with great love, the kind only a mother could give, I titled the piece, "Mother to the Stars."
