About The Artwork
In 2009, I first saw "Black Room" by Francisco Goya in the Prado - frescos from his house, made during a period of disappointment in life and people. But they were painted with such a powerful brush strokes that they looked much stronger and even more life-loving than his classical works. Taking off the black top, the girl makes a move to the light, but still not to the end - her face remains half hidden, retaining the incognito of the model.
