About The Artwork
This artwork is done using charcoal, oxide and acrylic over recycled cardboard. We can see a Mrs Maria of Gaucín portrait. Mrs Maria of Gaucín is one of the few women who has been a torero (bullfighter) in the all history. When she was a teenager she was a nun in Gaucín (a little village in the mountains of Málaga) and then she became a Bullfighter, something very strange in the XVIII century. She is a myth. She was very brave and all the audiences loved her. After a big success for years in all Spain she returned to the convent to be a nun again. She was very beautiful, very brave and very virtuous. In this painting I talk about the admiration we feel about her and his art and about the passage of time and human pain.
