My source of inspiration are the ancestral figures from the Pre-Columbian era in South America. It was these people with incredible respect for the arts that were capable of abstracting the element, being earth, water or wind, to elevate it in to an image that an idea versus a mere reflection of Mother Nature. It is the same source that inspired the likes of Rivera, Siqueiros and Tamayo. My earthy colors reflect my need to use nature as the basis of my expression. The simplicity, reflects the idea that less is more. The drawing, critical in my opinion, expresses my faith in the human race. I certainly go through cycles that go from people, to animals, to plants, but the common denominator continues to be the spirituality that I inherited from my ancestors.
