About The Artwork
"My Precious" belongs to a series of twelve paintings exploring power as an artistic theme through the figure of a queen. This artwork refers to the "Lord of the Rings" and to all the characters who are in search of the famous ring which can give absolute power, but which consumes the one who wears it on their finger. Gollum is the perfect representation of this type of character literally drugged by power, to the point of losing health and sanity: for the queen, it is the crown that is the most precious possession, to the point of being hypnotized, bewitched. This painting is a one-of-a-kind piece made in a mixed technique on canvas which blends together photography, digital composition and acrylic painting. The surface is shiny, with raised squares. The work is framed in a black wood (total dimensions: approximately 65 x 45 x 3,5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
