The (#) Memories series: Starting from his own story, the artist aims to connect Hongkongers in the UK, bridging the gap between the unknown and exploring the interconnectedness among them. The reasons behind human migration are diverse, ranging from escaping war to seeking opportunities, but the stories of each family or individual are equally compelling. By combining participants' facial profiles with a set of numbers, each picture symbolises the journey of creating a new home and new hope. This new place preserves their old memories, becoming a chapter in their life process. Numbers themselves tell a story; each set of numbers is a projection of personal emotions, a private little space for an individual. Behind the meaning of each set of numbers lies personal experiences and feelings. We cannot forget certain numbers because we cherish the people and events they represent. After a decade, the images of certain events may have become blurred, but whenever a specific set of numbers reappears, our memories return. About this artwork: On the day of the wedding photoshoot, the weather was chaotic, and his mood was uncertain. But after the rain, a rainbow appeared, a reflection of perfect and peaceful life.

With over a decade of experience as a graphic designer and illustrator, his primary focus has been on children's book illustration. His artistic practice bridges the realms of illustration, graphic design, and painting, with a particular appreciation for the aesthetics of typography. Having lived in diverse cities and countries, including Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Montreal, Berlin and now Reading, he has experienced significant cultural shifts. These experiences have profoundly influenced his work, helping him find balance amid the cultural contrasts. His art constructs imagery inspired by his personal experiences in these cities. The artist is deeply interested in storytelling, believing that every city he has lived in is filled with unique stories of its inhabitants. He translates these stories into visual imagery in his work. He has a particular fondness for symbols, whether concrete or metaphorical, which serve as sources of communication and self-dialogue. He enjoys exploring the relationships between different times and spaces, dissecting and reassembling them to create impactful narrative effects through irrational time-space structures.
