Nature Geometry Painting

Dana is creating visual poetic spaces, mostly using a very new technique which she is experimenting with for the last few years. You can study how it was painted, but Dana hopes that the viewers will feel the paintings with their hearts rather than with their brains. The layers of painted silk are interspaced with the acrylics and other materials; some layers are transparent or translucent, some opaque, which gives her pieces infinity of hues and shades of colors. The same color looks different on different materials or textures; on translucent or transparent silk the colors even look different depending on the angle you are looking from, or from which point the light comes and how it penetrates the layers of silk and transparent acrylics. Linen threads under the layer of silk give the painting a sculptural look. This painting is a 1" deep light wood birch panel, sides are mottled black.
