Aleksandra Galenko lives and works in Minsk, Belarus. She has been painting for over 20 years. "In my work I don’t adhere to any specific concept. Creating new works, first of all I strive to ensure that they have aesthetic value and demonstrate a high level of skill. It is also very important for me that my paintings were made technically correct, using high quality materials. It gives me confidence, that my works can be stored for many years. Among all the materials, I prefer oil paints, cause they can be used in very different techniques. Sometimes ideas for new works appear by experimenting in this way. For example, in the series of works “Birds” I use oil, but apply watercolor technique. Enjoy the process of creating these paintings is also an important aspect for me. In some moments, it happens that the object itself is not so much interesting as the creation of a beautiful texture, the selection of colors and perfectly matching shades. It is like a meditation process."
