The Hudson Valley, with its gladed mountain and water features is a wonderland of magic and ambiguous landscape, conjuring the unknown: the OTHER. Some refer to it as the sublime or nirvana. The sufi’s call it al-mithal and Carl Jung named it the collective, symbolic unconscious. The mirage is idolized into a mysterious purity- a point of contact between the spiritual and material realms. These paintings are the song of this inner life and the striving for it.
