ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This is a 4'x4' painting on gallery wrapped canvas over panel. Edges are finished grey so no need to frame. New Village is a series of work based on multicultural influences that range from primitive folk sigils to contemporary street art. Overlaps in color represent cultural overlaps. Bright, vibrant, fresh and energetic. New Village has been selected by two museum curators from the Contemporary Art Museum St Louis, as well as, an associate curator from the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago for the publication New American Paintings. New Village was also the inspiration for a 30' terrazzo floor installation at Lambert International airport and was featured in the Wall Street Journal. A timeless contemporary piece.
