ABOUT THE ARTWORK

In this oil painting, I capture an everyday scene with vibrant tones and expressionistic flair. Under the glowing sky, a man alights from his bicycle, hunger calling by a quaint diner named ‘Lillian’, with neon lights advertising ‘Hero's Pasta’. This scene, layering realism with a touch of the abstract, reflects the beauty and simplicity of daily life, invoking a sense of movement and tranquil normalcy. Here, the quiet heroism of ordinary moments is celebrated, breathing life and color into any space it inhabit . This was inspired by a photograph I took while living in Forest Hills, this being a favorite cafe of the postie, everybody's hero.

. My recent paintings and photographs of Parisian, Veinnese and New York everyday life are inspired by the many summers and winters we have lived in the cities. I truly believe thet art is the highest form of hope. Jo Tuck's works are in private collections around the world and regularly participates in shows in New York, Caelum Gallery, and London. , including Christie's Cancer benefit show and the RA Summer shows Her background is film editing until she became a full-time painter and photographer. While she was at college she made two 16mm short films, one on the Australian Aboriginal Women and another on Sheep farming in Wales. After film editing for the BBC and feature films I took up painting and photography full time. My photojournalism is inspired by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Walker Evans, Eugene Atget, and Robert Frank .
