About The Artwork

The search for pregnant manes and net shapes of flat colors are formal characteristics of these works. Color is the narrative axis of my work and it is mainly the object of my visual exploration in Painting. I find color as the expression of a bond, a relation of concomitance, a neighborhood. I recognize myself in the field of geometric abstraction, aware of the legacy of the modern movements of the twentieth century, their poetics and adaptations. Understanding that color is a cultural construction that multiplies and induces the ways of seeing, as a structure that intervenes on meaning, developing form and content. Thus, sets of colors, make possible readings, causing tensions and establishing the directions in which the eye must move. My painting is characterized by the flat color and the net edges to emphasize an optical-perceptual quality. I am interested in evidencing the effects of perception, optical illusions, creating shapes and colors of unstable appearance; which are background and vice versa, or seem to compose new figures, or appear to be movement. I want to show that, in an apparent logic of repetition, nothing is repeated, since the different chromatic associations operate propitiating some perceptible transformation. I experience color as a relationship of proximity, reciprocity or indifference, as a perceptive fact that is born of that "interaction". Development series and each one represents a temporal dimension, a rhythm that unfolds, a process to validate ideas and concepts. Thus, repetitions or fragments that make up the same work appear, where each of the paintings is part of a larger sequence, to generate sensations, climates, or an atmosphere of possible connections. My work develops between painting and design.

Visual Artist, Graphic Designer. Color is the narrative backbone of my work. I understand color as the expression of a bond, a relationship of concomitance. Remove the manual gesture to emphasize a perceptual quality optics. I use as constants, repeat operations, rotation and distortion. Interested rescue what Gestalt defined as pregnancia, sharp image as it exposes faults of perception. For example optical illusions, creating shapes and colors of unstable appearance, which become background and vice versa or that seem to compose new figures, or appear to move. I think each painting accompanied by another, as part of or within a larger sequence, to generate feelings, climate, or an atmosphere of connections open to interpretation.
